You should probably understand that under my librarian cover, I’m a math geek at heart.  I love math games and play on words.  I talked some teachers into celebrating Pi Day (3.14 or March 14) this year with awesome student-designed t-shirts.  The title alone makes me pick up this book.  The story carries itself.

Joss is a fairly nice 12 year old kid.  Of course, he’s been that age for eons, literally.  After all, when you are the seventh son of the Supreme Overlord of the Universe, it’s hard to get a job.  Joss’ after-school job is delivering pies;  pies that hold the fundamental forces of nature.  It’s an easy way to deliver the information to the edges of the universe.  And they smell good too.

Annika is from Earth.  She’s human and through very improbable circumstances landed at the Powers That Be Headquarters.  Now Joss and Annika need to save Earth by rebuilding it.  Easy as pie!   (There’s no fish in the ear – but if I ever read a version of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meant for preteens, this is it!)

This is a fun, frolicking trip through the universe with some physics thrown in to throw you off.
